OPEN SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE (OSA)
Sharp OSA is an easy-to-implement command and communication protocol between the Sharp OSA enabled MFP and an external server-based business application. The server application can remotely control the display functions on the Sharp MFP in a real time operation. This allows for a user to initiate a multi-step or sequenced workflow operation directly from the MFP. This effectively allows the user to hold an interactive session with the server application. In essence, the Sharp MFP becomes a data input and/or output terminal for the application allowing the user to interact with the application via the MFP's LCD control panel. It is important to note that the application does not run on the Sharp MFP.
A SOLUTION FEATURING OSA
In many organizations, vital information is trapped within individual desktops and fragmented in server silos across the enterprise. Manual, ad-hoc processes create inefficiencies and delays as employees waste time searching for important information. Organizations must find safer and easier ways to access, manage and share their content. Web-based document and file management software system solutionsdesigned to be used across the organization can help achieve these goals and reduce the total cost of managing content throughout the organization. DocPlace ExpressDocument Management is a software solution that provides access to a complete set of document and file management tools including document check-in, check-out, version control, workflow, and document retention and classification.
